Artificial Intelligence will bring great innovations and will affect industries. It has already impacted several industries lately and will be beneficial to us in the future. Due to pandemic, technology has been accelerated faster and has considered sectors both private and public. This has been done to leverage Artificial Intelligence for benefit and growth. Recently, AI has helped various creations and run the proliferation of technologies such as analytics, IoT, voice assistants, and robotics. As per report, AI has been on the top of the patent filings in 2020. Moreover, this is not fresh, it has been taking a hefty amount of patents in the previous years.

Artificial Intelligence and its Impact

  • AI has impacted the healthcare sector in a different way, particularly since last year’s pandemic. It and some other distortive technologies lifted a patient-focused healthcare system. However, this fresh care scenario is all comprised of digital and marks the significance of data and analytics. Machine learning and predictive analytics along with AI has played a major role in discovering drug and development of vaccine. We will experience in the coming years, the use of these modern technologies will turn the rule, and simply accessible electronic medical records will ease diagnostics. Artificial Intelligence will assist healthcare systems to completely track patients in real-time, get some genetic data and every individual’s lifestyle. All these algorithms working will eventually take up the charge of diagnosting health conditions and mentioning suitable treatments for it.
  • The human intelligence and Artificial Intelligence combination will reach at the top of the development of sophisticated cybersecurity creations in the forthcoming time. AI will assist an efficient and dynamic fight against the flourishing crimes and cyberattacks.
  • Artificial Intelligence has offered the manufacturing and transportation sectors a lot. In the near future, we might see the best evolution and commercialization of some real smart and autonomous vehicles. Besides, self-driving vehicles are seen today, but by the next 2–3 decades, this world will be going to see more individuals using this technology. The manufacturing sector will also get a plethora of perks from Artificial Intelligence. Raised usage of robots in factories along with predictive analytics in the sector will certainly improve the product quality and streamline the supply chain and logistics.

There are some other potential aftereffects of AI that would be seen in education, media, elder care systems, finance and business, smart cities, customer services, space exploration, and smart homes.

Will AI Destroy the Human Workforce?

This fright has always been emerging on AI and various tech giants and experts such as Stephen Hawkings and Elon Musk have told humans against the worst impacts and threats of the technology. One of the broadly seen consequences is Artificial Intelligence taking over the human workforce and causing hefty job losses. This specific claim is highly extravagant and researchers have agreed upon that AI might dislocate humans from some job profiles. However, it will not replace the entire workforce. Artificial Intelligence is likely to change routine roles and tasks of repititive nature such as separating and segregating materials, picking and packaging goods, responding to repetitive customer queries, etc. Even now all these functions are still performed by humans and Artificial Intelligence will take over all these jobs in the future.

Therefore, the human workforce fully focused in these easy and routine tasks should be upskilled and trained to do these fresh skills. As we are very far from getting to artificial general intelligence, the latest technology cannot increase human intelligence fully. So here’s the reason behind people should be completely trained to do better skilled roles such as coding, programming, and many others that are needed for the future purpose. The entire transition from the previous to the fresh job should be worked on to lessen the hefty impacts.

The Future of AI- Should We Fear Disaster?

The upcoming future will tackle the covered capabilities of Artificial Intelligence and motivate the innovation of self-learning robots. There are reinforcement training and learning algorithms that are entirely based on Generative Adversarial Networks will be inquired. Artificial Intelligence will also prove a great thing for sustainable technologies and will be employed against battling climate change by lessening the pollution levels and cheering green AI research.

Artificial Intelligence is mainly criticized for its fully bias and privacy infringement matter. There are several organizations and research firms who are trying their best to build ethical AI ways and algorithms that seems unbiased. However, we can expect that this will turn somewhere possible in the coming years.

One more threat to be faced by AI is the violation of human rights by affecting privacy. For instance, voice assistance such as Alexa and technologies like facial recognition have been blamed completely for getting into the human privacy and probably spy into their lives. Hence, AI required to evolve more to get ahead of these criticisms and assist an ethical and trustworthy system in the future.

AI as such will not pose a threat to human existence and there are some chances that humans might misuse the abilities of the technology for affecting. The complete scenario of war robots being employed to feed dangerous motives via their algorithms can be also an example. Moreover, in the upcoming years, it is needed to build an ethical AI ecosystem without any human bias and this may push the potential risks of AI in the future.
